Over the past two seasons most senior players will no doubt have played in a team with some oh our club's new up and coming youngsters.
These players have been playing in the junior section for up to 4 years. When they move through to the Senior section of the club, these lads have a good knowledge of the game and good technical skills.
This benefit is evident for players and supporters to see, and one of the purposes of the Junior section when it was established 5 years ago- the aim to have local lads with a good rugby knowledge and be able to progress to play rugby at a senior level. We believe that this has been a success story for the club, and something we wish to continue to grow.
As we enter a sixth year, however, a big challenge lies ahead for the Junior section.
We require a recruitment drive to encourage more youngsters to come and play rugby for Linley & Kidsgrove, and with this challenge ahead, we require the help of existing players to drive the recruitment, but more importantly, to help train these players in order to continue to build the success of the Juniors and to provide solid foundations for ongoing Club development and success.
The Junior section needs new faces, new ideas and fresh input to support the existing coaches in helping to fulfil the potential of kids who want to play rugby. With your help, we hope that the success of the Junior section will be maintained and continue to grow.
Without your help, there is a very real possibility that these dreams won't be realised, and this may have a huge impact on the Club as a whole.
Please would any player who feels that they have something to contribute to the Junior club contact a member of the Juniors coaching team. Your support is most welcome and definitely needed.
Thanks, in anticipation of your support.
